[info]dovil was taking a Poll over on her LiveJournal (and I'd link to it but she's taken it down already!) asking if there is a correlation between fiction and reality.  Sorry if I'm paraphrasing Dovil!

It got me thinking about the topic and then the relationship between reality and Sci Fi.

Some of our great inventions I have no doubt were created by Trekkie fans decades ago.  And the trend will continue as the influence of Sci Fi stories and technology continue.

But have we started to run out of ideas?  I'm noticing how often that I'm muttering to myself while watching a new episode of any Sci Fi show, "This reminds me of that *insert name of Sci Fi show* episode".

I guess I could just leave it at a subject.  After all, seeing as my main aim was to make sure this journal wasn't empty, I have achieved my goal. *nods to self, humbled by efforts so far*

I've heard inviting friends onto your journal can be a mixed blessing; for each great person you meet, there will be those that will make you shut down your journal and create an entire new username.. and abandon your home... with pets still inside.  So I'm not sure what to do; to friend or not to friend?  Looking for advice on this.

You have to admit, it's all getting a little crazy?  Since finding the Sci Fi community in December, I now have accounts for LiveJournal, Blogger, Wordpress (where Joe Mallozzi goes I find I blindly follow), Flickr, Photobucket, just to name a few – it’s insane!  As if I didn’t have enough usernames and passwords to remember for work and actually accessing things I really need like bank accounts.

So as I sit here writing for absolutely no one (at least it will reduce the amount of criticism that may be coming my way) I ask, when exactly will we all go, “Yep, I think I’d better get back to work”?
